The opposition in Albania today declared the creation of the United Opposition Front against crime and the demands are clear: the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama, as the main responsibility of crime links with Government, the establishment of an anti-mafia government and electoral reform, with a mandate designed to lead the country towards elections to restore legitimacy.
This opposition front also expresses support for implementing reform in justice, ensuring the decentralisation of politics and the punishment of senior heads of state involved in corrupts, illegally enriched, linked to narcotics crime.
The united opposition urges the General Prosecutor to start urgent and act quickly, in line with constitutional and legal provisions, the investigation into former minister Saimir Tahiri, and in co-operation with the authorities Italian and other counterparts to carry out all necessary actions to bring to justice all individuals involved in drug and arms trafficking. Also investigate the ties of the other ministers of this government with contradictions and their implications for criminal co-operation in purchasing the vote on June 25th.
