MP Milaim Zeka in his speech today in the Assembly has drawn sharp criticism of journalists and media, saying they are speaking publicly and are calling people ʹcrriminella in television studios.
Zeka, during his speech, has also spoken of a prosecutor who, according to him, alluded to the father of the renowned Adriatic moderator Kelmendi.
I understand every day and more than we live in a police state, where a simple policeman can arrest without any argument any Kosovo Parliamentary MP, even offend and humiliate him. For me, as an MP, it is very disturbing the phenomenon and standard of charges that have been introduced through both state institutions and parliament, accusing each other of terming a criminal, killer. Even more disturbing is the fact that such accusations are made publicly in our television studios. I happen to see in a national television studio these days, which earlier called public for civil war, where some analysts and journalists sat in a man's studio and accused MPs like Berisha of allegedly trying to kill journalists... For Flamur Kelmend, I mean”, Zeka said.
Meanwhile, after that statement the Adriatic Kelmendi reacted.
Kelmendi writes:
Is it worth exposing the person who invites you to confront the channel?
How does it become clear that you're not a channeling level, “gazer” that the journalist calls a cow, “politan” that a political colleague calls “rangac” promotes the country's first television beat, “that accuses others of unworthiness in the pre-prisoned quality of fraud? ...
Tragic system!
It remains: to let him do his job in the sewer, and to do your job.
In the end, small Kosovo, each recognises everyone, each will appreciate the work and value of each! ”
The Association of Kosovo Journalists has also reacted to Milaim Zeka's statement.
Kosovo Journalists' Association Condemns Abuse of Parliament's Speaker NISMA for Kosovo, Milaim Zeka, with the case of charges against media and journalists.
The AGK considers that the fact that Zeka has immunity when he speaks in the speaker does not allow him to attack and accuse journalists whenever he enters the Assembly.
Today's “Declaration of MP Milaim Zeka, for AGK, is a gross misuse of the Assembly institution. Zeka is constantly misusing immunity by not being spared on charges and actions, which at least belong to an MP”, a statement by AGK said.
According to the AGK the institution of the Parliament each MP would have to serve for the discussion of content subjects, rather than as the site of the blast on low charges against media and journalists.
AGK, urges NISMA for Kosovo to distance itself from the actions of MP Zeka in a tendency to show public opinion that as a political party supports free media and the safety of journalists in the country.
The AGK, also condemns the non-refusting of MP Milaim Zeka's speech by the leader of today's session when he publicly lynchoed Adriatic journalists Kelmendi and Vehbi Kajazi.
The AGK is seeking from Parliament Speaker Kadri Vesli that in the future no such statements on the basis of misuse of the assembly, as well as immunity to link media and journalists in the country. /Kosov
