Luxembourg Ends Military Mission in Kosovo

One officer, four deputy officers and eighteen soldiers have returned to their homeland in Luxembourg on Saturday, after four months in Kosovo, the Inseder reports.
The expectation of these troops was made at Luxembourg airport in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Etienne Schweider and Luxembourg Defence Minister Francine Closener in a ceremonial manner.
The family members of these soldiers have also been present to wait for their relatives.
Luxembourg's participation in the KFOR mission ended in October 2017. In all, there were 52 contingents that were deployed in Kosovo from April 2000 to October 2017.
NATO-led military presence in Kosovo lasted 17 years, with a total of 1,180 troops.
Since June 1999, NATO has led an operation to support peace in Kosovo in supporting international efforts to consolidate peace and stability in the region.
