Instead of any valid document for voting, he has presented a Pristina University card, ahead of the commissioners, given the fact that he is a university professor.
The law does not allow a citizen to vote with this kind of document.
CEC member from Vetevendosje Adnan Rrustem for Periscope has said Isa Mustafa in this case has committed a legal offence, as in his opinion it is only by ID, passport or driving permit.
Under the election law and voting procedures, the identification of voters can only be done with ID, passport, or permission to drive the Republic of Kosovo. Any other document is invalid for voting needs, while the commissioners should see to it that in each case, voting is in line with official voting procedures. He cleared for Periscope.
Under the law and regulation of the CEC, citizens of the Republic of Kosovo are allowed to vote with:
- a valid ID.
- b) currency passports;
- c) valid travel document;
- d) Kosovo's valid driving permit
By the rules, if anyone were to file a complaint about the case, the commissioners would be punished, but as such, nothing was taken.
Commissioners had to take it back, while observers and NGOs have that claim right. /Periscopi/
