Albanian singer Dafinza Zeqiri has long moved to LA, and unlike other artists, she has been very little active with concerts this summer.
That few days ago, she published the newest song “Told Ya” in which the story goes back to “the conversion” from a little girl with whom they mock that it's “like the boy” in a woman who realizes that you can only be yourself.
Although it's only one day since it's been published, the song's got more than 12,000 hits and has been very popular with the public. During an interview for “Milk”, Dafina has stopped at projects and plans he has for the future, but has also confessed the reasons for leaving Kosovo.
I got stuck there. My plan was to go there, play a nice music, watch how it would go and then return to the States. I stayed there for 10 years. I felt like I was losing myself -- also as an individual, but also as an artist. I told myself it was time to leave. I chose to move to the U.S. to free my mind and, fortunately, I found myself here”, shows Dafina.
Dafina has confessed the difficulties she faced when she decided to return to Kosovo. She's also stopped showing <x0killas” that she's received from some people that she should sponsor a man, or otherwise she couldn't get through the music market, writes “Class”.
I grew up in Sweden attending the children's festivals, but then I thought there was a point for me to go out on my own. So I decided to return to my mother's hometown, Kosovo, and I was a very feminist, which I thought needed that energy. It was very difficult. Going to another town, people looking at you with another eye like, "What do you think of herself, that coming here is going to make a big difference?" They told me that I needed a sponsor, a man who could help me”, says Duffy.
