The Chancellors of the two sides have begun to issue orders they normally expect to be implemented by someone. The Catalan Republic” has with it 754 municipal leaders in a total of 947 local units throughout Catalonia. It also has a part of Mossos, local Catalan police.
But Spain has everything else left: police, army, 52% of Catalan electors who voted to stay with Spain in 2015, has PEP, the ruling party of Prime Minister Rajoy, his historic rival. P The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, but also the opposition Podemo, which does not support Catalonia's independence.
It also has the US, the EU and the international community with it.
But the proclamation of Catalonia's independence has created an almost explosive process in Europe. Just yesterday, representatives of the Scottish Independent Party, which wins votes in any election, warned the secession from Great Britain.
