Blendi Fevziu is among the first-hour figures of post-communist journalism in Albania. During his media career, he worked on two televisions, RTSH, and then on Tv Klan, where his Opinion show has been broadcasting for 20 years. Invited to the mid-day show at Top Channel” as he spoke of his career, Blend showed an offer that came to him in a really strange way.
Jonida Shehu's question if she lured an offer where Fevziu's own figure answered: I've had interesting stories that I don't even want to tell. While I was invited to lunch, I was brought in with a bag for a year's pay. I've definitely shaken, not by the offer, but I've been shaking when I didn't feel good about my job! When I didn't have the space I had when I didn't have my appreciation. All of us, so often that we're touched by a word that is brutally said, moments like this I've always had, and I might say, recently I've had a quiet moment, it's been like my work priority doesn't exactly match the television priority I've been working on, these are the moments that go by...”
At one point when he speaks of his family's memories, the journalist tears when he remembers the last letter his grandmother sent to his mother.
Now I'm paralyzed I'm no longer able to move, stay in this little room, at that stove where you left them, I guess I'll die here, on the same couch where you sat every time I come, I don't want anything in my life but to see you again! I was touched, it was really touching”, he said.
As a person with a very busy day, his agenda is set. I have very simple daylight. I'm out at 11:00 after I checked out what happened to the news, run the morning run, always have my first meeting at 11:15, and at 1:30 I'm always having lunch, 3 hours in the afternoon, stay home and relax at 8:00. 1 hour late in the evening, I read until 1:45-02:00! But of course, there are also times when my agenda rings”.
Asked whether he would leave Albania, or live in our country, Fevziu said “Albania is a difficult country where injustice is ruling the right, I have a dilemma whether my daughters will live in the future in Albania. I don't think I'll ever leave”.
As for his mother's role in life, Fevziu stressed that “From Mother I inherited passion for the book, but my real world was connected to that of my ancestors, who treated me like a prince! It was a world cut off from Socialist implementation at the time, it was educated, and their conversations were on issues of what happened outside Albania. I've had an emotional connection with my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-greats.
Asked if you consider yourself lucky, Fevziu answered “No doubt! I was the typical man whose luck turned from one side to the other. I was a very good student in school, but I thought I would have no future, because my family was in bad biographies, so I had skills, but I wasn't lucky, then the system went down and it all started from the beginning! Lucky for us to do it ourselves! )
Fevzie also spoke of his passions for travel and sports! Emphasizing that he prefers voyages - even the surprises he encountered in 60 feet [16 m] below water! The next trip he wants to take: “
