Bartholomew releases news “bomb”: Barca is looking to leave La League and joining one of the other major evils

Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartholomew has confirmed that the leaders of La League are considering leaving the Spanish championship and playing outside Spain if Catalonia gains independence, and this could see them trying to join the Premier League or one of the other major leagues. Over 90 percent of people have voted for independence from Spain during the referendum held in Catalun, since the region is on its way to becoming independent.
However, violent clashes led to Barcelona's league match against Las Palmas on Sunday to play behind closed doors following violent clashes during the vote.
Bartholomew has confirmed his team's plan to go on strike in protest of the police and Civil Guard's violent crackdown, thus refusing to train the club on Tuesday.
And now he has discovered that Barcelona's board will discuss where the club will play football in the future, potentially by moving the club to one of the other major evils of Europe.
Speaking in a press release to explain the decision to play in front of an empty stadium on Sunday, he said: “here at FC Barcelona we decided that we should take some measures to show our indignation in the world”.
“There have been many issues in question and we have discussed this with different club departments: directors, executives, trainers and players”.
I must say that this was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had since I became the president of Barcelona”, Bartholomew said.
