Today AMD introduced the new Ryzen chips for the 2n1 super laptops and claims they are the fastest in their class.
Processors' details are:
Ryzen 7 2700U with Radeon Vega graphics:
4 core/ 8 clouds
8 Ghz CPU
10 Graphical Processors
1,300 Mhz GPU
6MB L2/L3
15 watt TDP
Ryzen 5 2,500U with Radeon Vega graphics:
4 core/ 8 clouds
6 Ghz CPU
8 Graphical Processors
1,100 Mhz GPU
6MB L2/L3
15 watt TDP
In all, these new processors AMD Ryzen offer a superior performance compared to the previous generation of mobile processors from AMD.
Processor performance 3 times higher
Graphical performance 2.3 times higher
Energy consumption up to 58% less
AMD claims that new processors Ryzen offer double the battery's life expectancy compared to past FX-9800P models. As for the graphs, both models Ryzen 7 2700U and Ryzen 5-2000 U support H265/ HEVC for video 4K and VP9.
What we don't know is how to compare with Intel Kaby Lake processors, but based on specifics we can see that Intel isn't going to be easy.
Ryzen 5 2,500U and Ryzen 7 2700U will be shown in the coming weeks a first Acher, HP and Lenovo laptops.
