Diane's letter auctions after an interview shook the British monarch

A personal letter written by Princess Diana nearly 30 years ago will be auctioned this month, raising great interest among collectors and fans of the British royal family.
It's a two-page letter, dated November 27, 1995, that Diana sent to her supporter Michael Barratt, after the famous interview she gave for the Panorama show. In that historic interview, the princess openly spoke of her personal life and her marriage to King Charles III.
In her message, Diane thanks Barratt for her support and says that she hoped that her public confession would serve as an inspiration to women who were struggling with personal life. It also stresses the importance of open and frank communication, a value that she wanted to convey to her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
The letter, written in Kensington Palace's official letter, is expected to reach an estimated $4,000 to $5,000 at the auction, which will be held on 9 June.
Diana's interview at “Panorama” remains one of the most important moments in the modern history of the British monarchy. She also uttered the famous phrase echoing worldwide: “In this marriage we were three persons”, referring to her husband's relationship with Camille.
Besides the paper, the auction will include other rare items related to Diana and the royal family, including documents from the process of creating her wax image at Madame Tussauds.
Meanwhile, great interest is expected to attract even a historic vehicle linked to the princess. A Jaguar XJ40 Sovereign, used by Diana in the last years of her royal life and linked to her ikionic performance with “revenge rights” in 1994, will also be auctioned. / Periscope/
