Nearly 200 KFOR soldiers donate blood

Units from KFOR's mission, in co-operation with the Blood Transfusion Centre, conduct shares in blood donation.
This was done to support the treatment of patients in need, to increase the availability of critical medical resources for all people living in Kosovo and to support hospitals and medical facilities throughout the region.
“Italian top national representative, Colonel Mauro Bruschi, and KFOR Joint Medical Unit (JMED), with the support of the Italian National Support Element, National Support Elements of the United States and Monitoring Unit (LMT) K8, organised a blood donation action in KFOR's Staff, camp “Fim City” in Pristina, where 129 donors<5> are declared KFOR.
Meanwhile, KFOR's Civilo-Ushtak Co-operation Team (CIMIC), assigned to the Regional-Western Command (RC-W) of KFOR, with the support of the Italian contingent, organised a blood donation action at the “Villaggio Italy” camp, where 70 donors participated.
“These initiatives reflect KFOR's continued engagement with local institutions and partners in supporting health and well-being, while simultaneously contributing to a safe environment for all people living in Kosovo” adds KFOR.
KFOR continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
