Retrial hearing against Cedomir Aksic for War Crimes fails, defence attorney absent

At the Constitutional Court in Pristina on Friday, it has failed to hold hearings in retrial against war crimes indictees Cedomir Aksic, for health reasons of the defendant's defender, lawyer Ymer Berisha.
This process is under way following the decision of the Court of Appeals, which turned the subject into retrial, demanding completion of conditions for lack of judgment, reports the “Justice Trust”, broadcast. Periscope
Defending accused Akek, lawyer Ymer Berisha, on May 29th 2026, has announced to the Court that, due to health reasons, he cannot present at Friday's session, even attaching the health report, which is proposed to the bed regime.
Presents in the courtroom were prosecutor Habibe Salihu and victim representative Ibrahim Tersten.
In the absence of legal conditions, due to the lack of a defence attorney, Friday's session was postponed for another date.
The accused Akek was found guilty and sentenced by the Constitutional Court in Pristina to 15 years in prison, on 26 December 2024, reports “Justice Trust”.
Otherwise, on November 2023 at the Constitutional Court in Pristina, trial had begun in absentia against indictees Cedomir Akek, charged with war crimes. The lack of judgment is envisioned with the New Code of Criminal Procedure of the Republic of Kosovo. /Periscope/
