(a month ago)A Blue Origin company rocket has broken out during tests on the Florida Cape Canaveral launch platform, triggering alarm and immediate reactions from American authorities and the space company founded by Jeff Bezos.
The incident occurred around 9:00 local times during a <x0-hour test”, a standard procedure where rocket engines are activated on the platform prior to official launch, Klankosova.tv broadcasts.
Images published by the site show the dramatic moment when the missile explodes and becomes a giant fireball that includes the area around the launch platform.
Blue Origin confirmed the incident through a response to social networks, suggesting that a “anomali” had occurred during the trial.
The company stressed that all employees have been identified and secure.
Even the company's founder, Jeff Bezos, reacted after the blast, claiming that staff safety and full investigation remains the priority.
The “is still early to know the main reason, but we are already working to define it”, Bezos said.
Meanwhile, the Brevard County emergency service revealed there is no danger to the public, while emergency teams have immediately appeared on the ground.
The US Space Forces confirmed that they are co-operating with Blue Origin to analyse technical data and discover the exact cause of the incident.
According to them, the blast occurred during preparation tests for a future launch.
This is not the first Blue Origin incident in recent months, the company was under investigation even after the problems encountered during the launch of an AST SpaceMobile company satellite with the New Glen missile, when cargo failed to achieve the planned orbit.
