Certificate application in June 7th elections tomorrow deadline for new parties ends

The list of 22 political parties and 3 coalitions, which until May 7th announced participation in the June 7th snap elections, could also be added to new political subjects.
On May 10 p.m., The CEC will complete the deadline for new political subjects, such as civic initiatives and independent candidates, to apply for the certificate of participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has told the Online Economy that certificates will be subject only to new political subjects, such as coalitions, civic initiatives and independent candidates, but not even political parties, which the law on general elections considers automatically certified.
Until May 10th, the new political subjects (coalialations, civic initiatives and independent candidates) must be delivered online to the CEC, respectively, to the Bureau for Recording, Certificate and Financial Control, the certificate application for participation in early elections for the Kosovo Assembly. Under the Law for General Elections, the political party is considered automatically certified, so this process will only apply to new political subjects, which in this case are coalitions, civic initiatives and independent candidates”, Elez said.
Meanwhile, two days later, until May 12th, all political subjects have time to hand over the list of candidates with whom they will compete in the Parliament elections online in the CEC.
The May 12th “closes the 11-day deadline for political subjects (political parties, coalitions, civic initiatives and independent candidates) to hand over the list with the names of MPs' candidates to be certified for participation in the June 7th snap elections. Delivering the list with the names of candidates for MPs should be done through electronic platforms, and the procedure is similar to the last elections held in December of last year”, he said.
In the last parliamentary elections, held on 28 December, the Central Election Commission certified 1,180 candidates for MPs from 24 political subjects. Of these, 18 were political parties, 3 coalitions, 2 civic initiatives and 1 independent candidate.
So far, of the 53 political parties registered in Kosovo, 22 have announced that they will participate in the June 7th elections, another 9 for non-participation and 3 different coalitions have been formed.
