US Gulf Allies have not said they are joining the US war against Iran, and Hegseth's comments have already raised surprise.
Gulf States pressured US President Donald Trump against attacking Iran, fearing they would be targeted by the Islamic Republic, reports Telegraph, broadcast Periscope.
Iranian attacks have already hit Dohan, Dubai and Manaman, but these attacks could escalate significantly.
This week, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution sponsored by the Gulf Co-operation Council condemning Iran's attack on the region. /Periscope/
