Prime Minister Albin Kurti's government decision comes after a meeting in Pristina with the European Union's special envoy for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Peter Sorensen, on Saturday morning, and he was greeted by both the international community and Serbia.
Serbia's President, Allexander Vuciq, said the solution reached in terms of implementing the Law for Foreigners in Kosovo represents a relief to the Serbian people.
“Although there are no beautiful and easy solutions, a model of which I am aware has been achieved. I'm grateful for the efforts of Europeans who wanted to avoid the disaster of some” conflict, Vuciq said, writes the REL, broadcast Periscopi.
He said he will soon talk to Kosovo Serbs about the model that has been achieved.
The director of the Office for Kosovo in Serbia's Government, Petar Petkovovic, said the solution reached would enable the continued and normal functioning of Serbian health and educational institutions in Kosovo.
At a press conference, he stressed that over the past few weeks he has been working with the EU to find a solution and that he has avoided the worst possible “skenar of the closure of Serbian institutions in Kosovo”.
Meanwhile, Serbian List official Igor Simay said the decision is “the result of hard work and diplomacy”.
He added that all educational and health institutions in Kosovo will continue to operate as yet in Serbia's system.
The enemy also explained that some 7,200 members of the Serb community do not have Kosovo documents for different reasons and that they would be allowed to receive them “in order to live normally in these” spaces.
These people will be able to obtain documents in the coming period so that they can live normally in this region. I know what the Serbs' attitude is to these documents, but at the moment it was a solution to preserve our people in this region and so that they could live normally in their homes, and not face a situation where mothers are being separated from their children, our families are being destroyed and the property of our citizens is being confiscated”, Siove said.

After meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Kosovo-Serbia negotiating mediator Peter Sorensen, Orav said ahead of the media that intensive talks have been held with the Government of Kosovo in recent weeks on the way to implement this law.
We focused on implementing the Foreign Law, which will begin tomorrow. We have had intensive talks with the Government of Kosovo over the past few weeks, and today reconciliation has been reached for implementing the Foreign Law with several additional content measures, especially when it comes to registering Kosovo Serb residents and persons with temporary residence permits”, he said.

I strongly believe that most will benefit those to whom this law is addressed - foreigners - who, thanks to the rules prescribed by law, will be more secure during their stay in the country”, Kurti added.
He added further that the Kosovo government will launch the process of integrating the education and health system within the country's legal framework.
Kurti said the government will provide local leaders with lists of academic and health staff engaged in providing these services, which will serve as the basis for their provision with temporary residence permits.
He simultaneously said the government would open yet another deadline for registering civilian facts for Serbian citizens.
The government of the Republic of Kosovo will also open a new 3-month window to enable citizens of Serbian nationalism to record civil facts that by 15 March 2026 are registered by illegal structures. In this period, applicants will be allowed exclusively to identify the card ID issued by illegal structures. The Ministry of Internal Affairs will provide detailed guidelines that enable registration of these facts”, Kurti said. /Periscope
