The US Embassy in Iraq warns its citizens: Leave the region immediately

In an official warning, the US Embassy called on American citizens in Iraq to leave the country immediately.

“American citizens who choose to stay in Iraq are strongly encouraged to reconsider their decision in light of the considerable threat posed by Iranian-related terrorist militia groups”, said in the embassy statement.

The warning comes at a moment when Iran has undertaken attacks on American targets in some countries in the region.

According to reports, the US has urged its citizens to leave many countries in the Middle East.
