According to the response, the failure to continue contracts has been done without a clear and transparent process and without any professional or disciplinary remarks during their three years of work. The network estimates that such an approach contains punitive elements and creates a climate of uncertainty for women in the media who face professional pressure and gender prejudice.
The organization points out that the case is further aggravated by the fact that one of the journalists, Edith Avdiu, is in pregnancy.
The Women Journal's Network has expressed solidarity with the two journalists and has called for immediate transparency from RTK's management to reason on the decision, warning institutional and legal support to challenge it.
