The president's statement came in response to a question by a journalist, just hours after American officials had suggested the possibility of an attack, the BBC writes.
On Thursday, Trump said the world will learn “over the next 10 days, perhaps,” whether an agreement will be reached or whether the US will take military action.
Meanwhile, the US has increased its military presence in the region in recent weeks.
The US and its European allies suspect Iran is moving towards developing a nuclear weapon, the claim Iran has consistently denied.
