Italian media suggest that a passing driver noticed the victim's body near a black Lancia Ypsilon, likely owned by him, and raised the alarm.
According to Italian media, the young man was allegedly killed by a bullet to the head, while the gun was not found at the scene. This theory is supported by the fact that the body was found partially covered in sand.
The investigation is being conducted by city carabinieri officers and the investigation unit of Cuneo's provincial command, co-ordinated by public prosecutor Sara Paterno of the Asti Prosecutor's Office. Paterno has ordered an autopsy on the body, which is expected to take place today.
