He called major injustice what is being done to former Kosovo Liberation Army fighters, accusing the Specialised Chambers of exceeding the mandate.
I see it as the return of the victim to the rape and I am very disappointed with the court. He received a broad interpretation of his mandate. I don't like it at all and it's coming out as a big mistake that I've been urging politicians in Kosovo to implement, but it's already making a big mistake. He has exceeded the measure, has put the court on a channel that will end up discrediting the trial rather than KLA”, the American expert said in an interview for A2 CNN.
Serwer also spoke of the Peace Board, naming it a bad idea. However, according to him, Kosovo and Albania benefit.
The Peace Board, it's not something that I'm enthusiastic about, to be honest, and I think it was a mistake that was authorized by the Security Council without a clear mandate and that participation is suspicious in front of European eyes and I'm not optimistic. I think this is basically a bad idea, but it doesn't mean that Kosovo doesn't take advantage and not raise the international profile. I think Kosovo and Albania are doing this”, Serwer said.
