Search Service- Salvation provides details following the find of the lifeless body on the tip of Hyla

The news has revealed the Kosovo Mountain Peace Research Service ( ShKMK.

According to initial information, a group of Croatian boxers has sent an SOS message, reporting the loss of contact with an animal crash.

The weather conditions in the area were very difficult, which complicated the search-saving operation.

Immediately after accepting the call for assistance, the ShKMK engaged a team of mountain rescuers and co-ordinating the operation was held in co-operation with Montenegro's Mountain Rescue Service, GSS Crne Gore, as well as with local painters from Rozhaja. The operation was launched late in the evening, but because of low visibility and difficult weather conditions, the search was postponed for morning hours.

On February 22nd, 2026, during extensive research, teams met unfortunately on the lifeless body of Bjetkatar C.F., in the area known as “Gropa”, on the northern slopes of Hayla, within Montenegro's territory.

After completing the necessary procedures, the body was transported and handed over to competent institutions.

The ShKMK expresses the most sincere condolences to the victim's family and the health community, stressing that mountain safety remains a constant priority and that cross-border search is necessary for emergency cases. /Periscope
