The Kosovo Journalists' Association (AGK) has been deeply concerned about the public broadcaster's decision, RTK, not to continue work contracts for two journalists, Hannah Marteti and Edita Avdiu.
The AGK considers that the failure to continue their commitment to RTK is directly linked to their professional work and unwillingness to submit to pressure and compromise professional reporting, said the AGK's response.
The non-compliance of contracts without a job assessment has all signs of a previously planned decision and revenge for journalists, including the fact that management was aware of Mrs. Avdiu's pregnancy. This is an harmful practice and undermines public confidence at RTK”, the response follows.
“The AGK expresses full solidarity with its colleagues Martini and Avdiu, and will offer you legal assistance to challenge this decision”, the response concludes.
