Prosecutor Proposes House Arrest for Artan Grubin

By the Constitutional Public Prosecutor in Skopje, it has proposed replacing the detention measure with the extent of house arrest and the seizure of the travel document for the first former deputy prime minister, Artan Grubi.

The prosecution's orders estimate that most evidence has already been provided, that the suspect has voluntarily submitted to the prosecution's bodies and that there are indicators for endangering his safety in custody.

The Prosecution's full announcement:

After receiving the announcement that the second suspect in the State Lottery case, where he is suspected along with five other people, has voluntarily submitted to the prosecution's organs and has expressed readiness to co-operate with competent bodies, the procedure will continue with the aim of making a prosecutorial decision.

At the request of the second suspect through his defense, during the present day he appeared before the competent prosecutor, where he did examine the subject paperwork, but because of the large volume of the prov material, the examination will continue in the coming days, after which the second suspect will be able to provide his defense.

As for measures to ensure the presence of the second ongoing suspect in the procedure, the Skopje Public Prosecution proposed replacing the detention measure with the measure of house arrest and the seizure of the travel document, given the fact that, for the most part, evidence has been provided during the procedure, that it is voluntarily submitted to the prosecution organs, as well as that there are indications that in the detention department it cannot guarantee its personal security, indicators which are backed by competent bodies.
