President's case enters in the past 10 days, opposition urges unifying candidate

There are still 10 days ahead for the election of the new president, while political parties have not reached agreement yet. Analyst Artan Mujaziri has warned that early elections remain a real option unless consensus is secured. Opposition calls for unifying candidates even ten days of deadlines have remained for the election of new president and discussions [...]
Ten days left for the election of the new president and discussions on the candidate have not yet officially begun among representatives of political parties.
Opposition parties have expressed readiness for talks, but all have sought unifying candidates.
Political analyst Artan Muhhaxhiri has said the opposition does not give up on Prime Minister Albin Kurti's obligation to elect the president.
He has stressed that the possibility of new elections is also great.
However, the opposition does not dare to lose dignity and surrender to Mr. Kurti and Vetevendosje's obligation automatically, out of some kind of fear, because it would be even more disparable in the future and no longer have to complain when Mr. Kurti's candidate for president would take political action that would go to him for favor. So the new elections are a real option, they're a” option, mujahir said.
Democratic Party MP Artan Behram has said the criterion the new president must meet is “to have a unifying role”.
He pointed out to you that at any meeting on this issue, the chairman of PDK, Bedri Hamza, will attend.
“We seek dialogue, interparty compromise, to find a figure for president or president, who either respects the key condition that is in the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, representing the civic unity of the Republic of Kosovo. So far we have not heard from political parties making proposals. I believe we are at the end of the deadline, very soon the parties will get together and consider all proposals coming from them”, MP Behrami has said.
Even for the Democratic League, the election of the new president should be the derivatives of consensus.
This party's MP, Armend Zemaj, has indicated that the LDK has names that would stand up for this position.
“Negotiations belong to political subjects or opening a topic that will be resolved to go well and have the consensus of a name proposed and done according to the Constitution. It's not discussed whether we will have a candidate, but what's known is that we have potential, we've always had the potential to have people who are exemplary in leadership”, he said.
Even Albana Bytyqi, deputy from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, has stressed the unifying role as criteria for the new president.
Despite the work of President Osmani who has represented us as a woman in a good way. However, I would like to be a candidate who will be a unifying president. We all know, not only I but all the parties, all of Kosovo that President Osmani has been unilaterally”, she has declared.
However, political analyst Artan Mujaziri has said that the opposition conditions for supporting a candidacy that would come from Vetevendosje should be much more specific than “the unifying name”.
The “Oposi can condition on the candidacies for the judges of the Constitutional Court, I can condition with the positions of Kosovo in international reports, as well as dialogue with the Peace Board and with many elements that will advance Kosovo, especially on the European road, as well as with some major project within Kosovo”, Mujariri has said.
Vjosa Osmani has voiced intent on receiving another term as president, reports Time.net, broadcast Periscope.
Vetevendosje as the largest party in the Assembly will not be able to elect the president without agreement with the opposition, since in the first two rounds of voting, the quorum of at least 80 deputies is required, which it does not have.
Kurti has said he is willing to speak to other subjects, either to re-elected Osman or to another consensus candidate.
Under the Constitution, the president's election should take place no later than 30 days before the end of the current president's mandate.
Osman has been elected president on April 4, 2021, while taking office the following day. Failure to elect the head of state imposes early elections. /Periscope
