A powerful winter storm has forced the closure of schools and suspension of transport services in the North East part of the United States, while authorities warn of dense snow, strong winds and dangerous travel.
New York has declared a state of emergency and has closed all public schools, while officials demand that residents stay at home.
Mayor Zohann Mamdani ordered the removal of vehicles from the streets to facilitate the clearing of snow and the work of emergency teams.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul activated 100 members of the National Guard to help in the most affected areas, while in Massachusetts and New Jersey regional emergencies were announced, Kloncosova broadcasts. tv
