Osman meets with Rubio, discuss strengthening alliance between two countries, NATO membership

President Vjosa Osmani has been hosted by US State Department by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

About the meeting, the first of the state of Kosovo announced through a Facebook report, where it also provided details.

“With the US we are united in the determination to protect peace and ensure a safer future for new generations! ”

“In the 18th anniversary of the connection of diplomatic relations between Kosovo and the United States, it was a special honor to be received today at the American State Department by Secretary of State Marco Rubio”.

Osmani indicated that with senior US official, they discussed Kosovo's NATO membership among others.

We discussed opportunities to strengthen our alliance, as well as concrete steps in this direction that are of vital importance to our people. In particular, I thanked him for Kosovo's involvement in the Peace Board, for crucial American support for Kosovo's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the US military presence in Kosovo as the key presence for peace and stability in the region”.

“We discussed the great importance of Kosovo's membership in NATO, as well as the opening of new chapters of co-operation in the economy and defence, as part of our strategic partnership.

Side by side with the United States, we remain committed to strengthening peace and security, addressing common global challenges and advancing towards Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic integration”, she said.
