US President Donald Trump has made his first public comment about the armed man killed by the Secret Service as he entered the Mar-Lago areas of Florida on Sunday morning.

21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin tried to sneak into Mar-a-Lago while carrying a gun and gasoline when he was shot by Secret Service agents after refusing to drop his weapon.

The American president, who survived the two assassination killings in 2024, joked that he said perhaps it should be “slightly less important” in order to stop such events against him.
