An official who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly, has said the military operation was conducted in the western state of Jalisco.

It followed several hours of traffic jams burned in Jalisco and other countries.
Such tactics are usually used by cartels to block military operations, records Telegraph, broadcast Periscope.
The US State Department had offered a reward of up to $15m for information leading to El Mencho's arrest.
