In a social networking post, President Trump announced the ship's shipment to Greenland.
Working with the great governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry, we're sending a large hospital ship to Greenland to take care of many people who are sick and are not getting adequate care there. It's on the way!
Neither the White House nor Landry's office answered questions about the post, whether the ship was asked of Denmark or Greenland. Denmark and the US held talks last month to resolve the tense situation within the NATO alliance.
Trump published the post on social networks several hours after the statement of Denmark's Joint Arctic Command, which said he had evacuated a crew member seeking urgent medical treatment from an American submarine operating in Greenland's waters, seven miles from the capital of Greenland, Nuuk. /Periscope/
