Enver Hasani: Kurti aims at faithful president to strengthen power

Former head of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo Enver Hasani has also voiced doubts about a second presidential mandate by Vjosa Osmani, saying he does not believe Kurti would support a figure that, according to him, poses a continuing challenge to his authority. Referring to the 2023 Ohrid Agreement, he said [...]
Referring to the 2023 Ohrid Agreement, he said Kurti has accepted political autonomy for Serbs in Kosovo, and that in the president's election it would prefer a “lyal”, with strong moral and patriotic features, Kossev reports.
Regarding Kurti's statement for the development of dialogue with Serbia through the ministry, Hasani said it is part of Kurti's propagandistic communication style and serves as preparation for implementing obligations from the Ohrid Agreement.
He added that Kosovo has no luxury to reject American initiatives, commenting on the decision to join American President Donald Trump's Peace Committee, and praised that the Kosovo Security Force has enough capacities for such missions.
As for the process against former KLA leaders at the Special Court in The Hague, Hasani said the charge of “joint criminal enterprise” is groundless and unfailing, stressing that senior Western-time officials had full control over the situation during 19981999.
