Criticised the Government for not including Pristina's budget in Kosovo, Rama today holds media conference

Pristina Mayor Progress Rama will hold the media conference at 2:00 today.

This, as he shows, does not include the Pristina Community budget in Kosovo's budget.

Rama had reacted to the issue on February 13th.

“Today I am speaking not only as Pristina chairman, but as representative of over 300 thousand citizens who are being unjustly penalised. The new Kosovo government is deliberately blocking the capital's approved budget. This is not a technical delay. Not an administrative misunderstanding. It is a political decision to weaken Pristina. The capital's budget has been voted under the law. It is the official document of the Republic of Kosovo. Any intervention to bypass or sabotage it is a direct violation of institutional order. Let's face it: When Pristina's budget stops, school construction stops, infrastructure improvements stop, residential investment stops, economic development stops. This is not a fight against the Mayor. This is collective punishment against citizens”

“Pristina is not a party property. Pristina is the capital of the Republic. If the government thinks it can use it as a tool of political pressure, then you are making a serious mistake. I will not allow the capital to be treated as an opponent. I will not allow Pristina citizens to pay the price of political calculations. If the government continues with this approach, we will follow every legal and institutional path to protect our right. We'll do this publicly, open and uncompetitive. This is not a personal matter. This is a matter of institutional dignity and respect towards citizens. Pristina will not be silent. Pristina will not be afraid. And Pristina will not stop”, Rama wrote on Facebook. /Periscopi/
