An attempt at theft in a private villa has taken the life of a 46-year-old Albanian in Italy who was thrown off the balcony while trying to escape after the theft, fearing the houseowner's shooting.

According to preliminary information, the Albanian had entered the apartment along with two other associates. The owners of the house have discovered and fired firearms in the air, which has caused panic among thieves who fled.

During the escape, the 46-year-old has collapsed from a height of about two metres and is suspected of having suffered a deep hole in his leg, which caused a serious bleeding that claimed his life. The Albanian managed to run about 20m before he fell to the ground, where he later passed away.

Italian authorities have launched investigations into the full whitelight of the event's circumstances. Carabinieri are searching for two other people allegedly part of the group.
