The Kosovo Milk Industry Association (SHIQK) has reacted with deep concern and regret to a statement by the organising secretary of the Vetevendosje Movement! Alym Rama, where it was called for boycotting the products of local producers, stigmatizing them groundless and unacceptable.
The SEC expresses indignation that a political representative is promoting lynching on local producers, who for years have contributed significantly to the country's economic development, employment and food security.
It is unacceptable to call in 2025 for boycott and division of production sectors, especially from a political subject that has exercised and continues to exercise power in public institutions”, the association's response is said.
According to the SHIQ, the milk sector includes over 20,000 farmers and produces over 300 thousand liters of milk a day. Boykoti towards this sector is seen as a serious blow to the local economy and the welfare of thousands of families.
The Society expresses deep disappointment with the current conditions, which, reportedly in response, are more unfavourable to local producers than in the post-war years, stressing that more than ever, institutional support is needed today than ever, rather than divisive messages.
In the end, SEC calls on leaders of the V Movement ENVENTION to distance itself from Alym Rama's statements and to take concrete measures to prevent further damage to the local production sector.
“Such positions provoke hatred and are contrary to Kosovo's national and economic interest”, the response concludes./Periscopi/
