Not a month in power, VMRO partner wants Albanian flag removed from institutions

Declaration of Movement Leader “ZNAM”, Maxim Dimitrievski, who commented on the first co-ordination meeting of Albanian ministers in the North Macedonia Government, from the ranks of “VLEN”, where even the Albanian flag was present, that if it continues this way it will leave the ruling coalition, it has sparked sharp reactions, until local leaders “VLEN” has pledged that this will not happen.

Health Minister Arben Taravari has said Dimitrievski is “in electoral euphoria” and that no one can prevent the Albanian flag from being placed in the institutions of northern Macedonia, since, according to him, this is regulated by law.

“Maxim is in electoral euphoria, cannot prevent anyone, because the use of the Albanian flag is official, nor do I discuss it if it interferes. I have to figure out how not to interfere, if that's the reason he gets out of the government, that's his decision. This is his populist rhetoric”, Taravari said in an interview for RTV-21.

Even Bilal Kasami, one of the leaders of the coalition “VLEN”, one mayor of Tetovo municipality, has opposed Dimitrievski, saying the latter does not specify how and when the Albanian flag is used.

We hope that even the coalition partner, in this case the chairman of ZNAM, will step out of pre-election rhetoric and realize that we are now part of the government and must work for the good of the citizens and deal with the jobs and obligations that we have received”, Kasami said before reporters Tuesday.

Different, Movement leader “ZNAM”, Maksim Dimitrievski, said the day before that it is decided to continue the Albanian flag in RMV institutions will be removed from the ruling coalition, which consists of VMRO- DPMNE as coalition host, “VLEN” as representative of Albanians and Movement “ZNAM”, which leads with two government reactors.

This is the DUI's recurring narrative. If such behaviour and disrespect continue, we will not be part of the government and we will exit”, Dimitrievski told Macedonian media, broadcasts albanianpost.

The ruling coalition in northern Macedonia, led by nationalist leader Hristian Mickoski, consists of VMRO- DPMNE as coalition host, “VLEN” as representative of Albanians and Movement “ZNAM”, which leads with two government reactors.

“VLEN” has become part of the government in the quality of the election losers in the Albanian tray, as in the May 8th parliamentary elections it received 4 deputies less than “The European Front”.

Despite that, Mickoski selected “VLEN” for ruling partners, thus breaking the winning principle with the winner (of Albanians and Macedonians).
