Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky welcomed the US Senate's approval of a $61 billion aid package for Ukraine, viewing Washington's role as a <x0fener of democracy”.
In a statement on the Telegram message application earlier today, he said it's “ungrateful” for the “vital assistance to Ukraine”, writes Skynet, broadcast Klanosova.tv.
This vote reinforces America's role as a beacon of democracy and leader of the free world”, he added.
President Joe Biden's administration is currently preparing a $1 billion military aid package for Ukraine, the first taken by the bill, two US officials told Reuters news agency.
These include vehicles, Stinger air defense ammunition, additional ammunition for high-speed artillery rocket systems, 155mm artillery ammunition, and other weapons that can be used immediately on the battlefield.
The Democratic and Republican Senate leaders predicted that Congress had turned the turn, making it clear to Russian President Vladimir Putin that Washington will continue to support Ukraine and other foreign partners.
