“Alarm weapon for institutions” The DAS report is seen with concern by law enforcement officials.

U.S. State Department ( The DAS) for Kosovo is being seen as disturbing by law affairs connoisseurs. According to them, on the same cheek government interventions in the justice system, the level of corruption, the impunity of government officials, domestic violence and gender-based violence. They say that along with problems in the justice system, [...]

They say that along with problems in the justice system, politics is what is affecting justice organs from being independent.

Lawyer Ardian Bajraktari says the level of policy interference in the judiciary is disturbing. According to him, the report should be alarm for Kosovo institutions in order not to repeat the same findings.

The DAS report is one of the extremely creditive reports, and in my conviction it reflects the real situation in terms of the issue that is addressed, with particular emphasis on the aspects that we and the locals in not a few cases have dealt with and given our views, with particular emphasis is to say for concern the level of political interference, through attacks, through direct connections of political experts, by citing even the names of judges, the names of prosecutors, which of course should be stopped as soon as possible. I appreciate the report so it's real and as such it should be concerned and in my conviction it's an alarm for everyone dedicated to”, Bajraktari says.

Bajraktari has asked political explorers to stop attacks on the judiciary as soon as possible. And the latter requires more efficiency in their work.

The “E ahead of the political institutions, political explorers, Government and others should sooner stop these labels, these attacks at judicial institutions, but even the latter of course should increase efficiency with particular emphasis, the Judiciary Council and the KKP should engage extremely much in terms of strengthening the integrity of people within the judiciary in terms of addressing accountability, but of course, in terms of revising punishment policy for certain categories of violent acts involving the victims, therefore the company is my urgent action that will improve the image of our institutions and the image of our last Justice, Bay1] was expressed.

While the other lawyer, Yll Zeqaj, says this year's report is the same as last year, where interventions in the independence of the judicial system are stressed. These findings, Zekaj sees with great concern the fact that the situation has not changed since last year.

Zekiaj cites some of the findings he considers to be more disturbing.

This year's report of the American State Department is not much different from last year's report. It identifies many serious problems, especially in human rights violations, in the work of the judiciary, in the intervention of the Government in impartiality and independence of the judicial system, to corruption, domestic violence, gender-based violence. These are the points which, in terms of violations of the law and human rights violations, identify the State Department reports, which do not realise there has been progress from last year”, says Zekiaj.

Interventions most mentioned in the report, according to Zeka, are at the moment government officials are pursued by the justice system.

This report highlighted what we saw in the judicial system last year and in terms of the government that we have constantly had interference with the judicial system through criticism, especially in cases where the judicial system is behind political officials or government officials, whether in the phase of their investigations or in the phase of their trial we have always had controversy on the part of the judiciary in the direction of the judiciary and that is then confirmed by this report that is directly violating the independence of the court system<1], Zeka said.

These findings, Zeka urges institutions to take it seriously and reflect. He says these reports reflect the reality in which our country finds itself.

The US State Department report as well as the progress report or the EU report for Kosovo are scanning the situation in which our state is located in all spheres, whether in violation of human rights, the violation of individual rights. The government of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as all other institutions in which it has found that there is no progress, or there is no progress they should take as a real report and reflect on the basis of these findings more equivalently have to try to increase efficiency in the direction of improving finds for next year, and not only take positive parts as cut off from the report on personal interests or interests of a certain institution, not looking at the report as a whole”, Zeqaj said. /EO
