Since 7 am, they've been sitting in front of campus facility number five.
30 Students Centre workers have continued today on the eighth day of the strike with a demand to raise wages, only that unlike the past few days, they were not allowed to enter the facility today.
Adele Rexhepi says that the owner of the company is now and many days away from their request.
When we're here at seven o'clock, when we're ready to get into the hallway, receptionists are holding the door key and skeing us in, saying we're breaking into dormitories”, Adile Rexhepi, employee at the Student Center.
But for their request, an answer has been given by the owner of the private cleaning company.
Arben Red has told Dukagjin that his own money has offered them a 20-euro salary increase, but they, according to him, have refused.
“John to the contract with us on the basis of the contract we have with the Student Center, workers who are there have asked the Student Center to raise salaries, if they publish the growth we agree, but as long as we have signed a contract with the Center of Students we can't grow because it's set up gross wage of 320x1>, Arben Red- Company of Cleaning <2Beni<3> has declared.
Similar to this, on the eighth day of the strike, technical workers from Pristina University have continued.
But their situation is different.
The current company's contract expires next month, so the UPP has compiled a new offer, where the rise for the lowest position, the one for the guard is set to be 42 euros, which brings the salary height to 322 euros, an approximately similar salary he has proposed for the cleaning's position.
For the new tender, the UPI has the highest budget of around 800 thousand euros for security and cleaning services, but the increase in the number of employees and service hours is also envisioned.
In such a situation, they say, the largest wage increase is impossible.
“Even these parameters have left no room for the greater height of the minimum gross salary, since this would then affect the projected value of the contract”.
But with this proposal that even though it was not officially handed over, the workers themselves did not agree.
The “works unanimously have decided they will exit the strike only when they officially make the decision, which will be the 400-euro net wage. We are based on this by the law of the salary of civil servants”, said Yusuf Azemi-Uniting Private Sector.
The last date to apply for this tender was February 23rd. /rtvukugini
