Osmani: When the departure of the mayors is confirmed in the north, I set the election by deadline

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has once again spoken of the petition process for the dismissal of mayors in the country's north. This process, Osmani considers citizens' legitimate rights, reports Online Economy.

Osmani has declared that the Central Election Commission is proceeding to final confirmation of these signatures. While stressing that the moment the chairman's departures are confirmed there, within 30 to 45 days it will set up new elections.

You know that's the right of citizens of all our municipalities to demand the removal of the mayors through petition. It is already envisioned with applicable laws in Kosovo. In addition, the relevant ministry has adopted an administrative directive that envisions procedures”.

“The CEC is within those previous deadlines with administrative guidelines and as long as I'm informed of the ongoing meetings of the CEC chairman, we are proceeding with final confirmation of these signatures and I believe that very soon the CEC will meet to approve what's called an operational plan that envisions the dates of all other procedures, including when the removal of the mayors will be held and immediately after confirming the resignation results that require more than 50 per cent of the entire voting body to vote, and if such a thing happens within the next 30 days of 45 days, which is my choice as a local president, Osman.
