LDK's Shala: Kosovo gave no rights, not even allies

Democratic League of Kosovo MP Kujtim Shala has commented on the extraordinary UN Security Council session, where it was discussed the decision to prevent the use of the dinar from Kosovo Central Bank.

Shala has said that at the Security Council session, no one gave Kosovo rights.

A session in which Kosovo was not entitled, including all allies”, has he told Front Online.

Kurti's face-to-face with Vuciqi at the UN Security Council session, MP Shala said it has no impact.

“While confronting the prime minister of Kosovo with the president of Serbia in the format in which it functions and sets the UN's KS, there is no impact”, Shala said.

At the UN meeting, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti defended the BEC's decision, envisioning only the euro to be payment currency, preventing the use of the dinar.

While Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, described this decision as “attack” on the Serb population in Kosovo.

The regulation of the CEC, which stipulates that the euro is the only currency available for cash payments across the country, went into effect on February 1st, despite pressure on internationals.
