Meeting between Ukraine and Allies Canceled, REL sources say

A high-level meeting of the Ramstein group of arms donors for Ukraine has been cancelled after US President Joe Biden was forced to cancel his visit to Germany this week due to Hurricane Milton's approach to Florida, two sources from NATO for Radio Europe and [...]
The Ramstein Group, also known as the Ukrainian Protection Contact Group, was scheduled to meet during Beden's visit to Germany from 10 October to 13 October.
The president postponed his trip on October 8th “to oversee preparations and respond to Hurricane Milton as well as respond to the aftermath of the Hellenic hurricane in southeast”, according to a statement by the White House.
Forecasters have warned that the second storm of Milton in two weeks to hit Florida could turn into the greatest natural disaster that has affected the state in a century.
Beden, and the head of Tampas, Jane Castor, warned people in the evacuation areas to flee or risk death.
Milton is expected to hit Florida later on October 9th, while western Florida is still facing the effects of Hurricane Helen, who flooded streets and houses in this area two weeks ago.
That storm left at least 230 dead in all south of the United States.
Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, had declared preparations for this meeting last month.
He had stressed the need to make progress before this meeting to assure Western allies of Ukraine's skills in the battlefield.
