Energy prices on international markets are dropping, in Kosovo where Kurti government rose 130%

Only for 49 euros was the sale of an electric megawat on October 2024 on international markets, up from 490 euros worth of electricity in 2022, with which the reason Kosovo had expensive the current at the time. From 2022 to now Kosovo has been expensive for 130% electricity because of [...]
From 2022 to now Kosovo has been expensive for 130% electricity due to lack of domestic production and imported energy expensiveness. Such a decision has been made by the Energy Regulatory Office, but when energy is being sold at “land price” in international markets it is not seeing fit to lower the current price.
In expensive electricity purchases, Kosovo's ambassador to Croatia, Martin Berishaj, who has been confirmed to have accepted money from the Slovenian company GEN with branches in Belgrade. The scandal has initially reported Slovenian media, while major withdrawals of Ambassador Berisha's Kosovo have been revealed in Kosovo. An Investigative Commission in the Kosovo Assembly has also been formed for this international scandal.
Will the current be expensive? Speaking from ZRREET to tariffs
The Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) for FrontOnline clarified that, in line with the legislation in force, the process of reviewing the tariff includes several steps until the final decision taken by the ZERE Board, which is expected to take place by the end of March 2025.
This, according to ZRE, includes the license application for regular annual adoptions of maximum access, app analysis by Z HR, and public consulting reports
“We comply with the legislation in force, the fee review process has some steps to make final decisions (by the end of March 2025) by the ZRRE Board to access and tariffs such as the application of regulated licenses for regular annual adoptions of maximum-level revenues, Z application analysis The RRE and public consultation reports, then final decisions are made, reported in the ZERE response.
Until the conclusion of this process, it is difficult to predict what the tariffs will be like for next year, as they depend on various factors, including cost analysis. Z RRE stressed that it is important to expect the outcome of this review to have a clearer view of potential tariffs.

MP PDK: With the government “Kurti” there is no power price discount
Ferat Shala, chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Economy, criticised the Government for costing electricity tariffs in Kosovo, stressing that price variations on international markets do not justify the 130% increase the government has imposed.
It is true that price variations on the domestic and external market have changed from period to period, but it has not changed the electricity rate that the government has made within its four-year mandate to freeze to 130%, Shala said.
He stressed that this increase has damaged citizens and consumers and voiced doubts that the government would reflect on its energy policies to lower prices.
So in this relationship the rise was not based on the basis of the argument and market prices and in this case every citizen or every consumer was damaged.
I do not expect a decrease in the price of electricity because I do not expect this government to reflect on policies in the energy sector, Shala concluded.
Reporter Gjata: I don't expect a power cut, please don't get expensive again
The journalist, who has covered the energy sector for decades, Mehmet Gjata, said that a decrease in the price of electricity would have been needed in Kosovo earlier, but instead, the price has continued to rise. He stresses that he does not expect a decrease in the price of energy, saying that we should pray that there are no new raises.
We are living in Kosovo, it would actually have to sit down a little earlier on the price of electricity, but it's just gone up and I don't personally expect the power price cut, we should pray there's no new electricity price upgrade, Gjata said.
According to him, KEDS and KESCO companies continue to bomb demand for price hikes, depositing new demands every day, every week and every month.
) KEDS and KESCO bombard with demands to increase the price of electricity continuously, they deposit every day, every week and every month new demands, Gjata told FrontOnline.
It criticises the ERE, the energy regulator, for its tolerance of the demands of these companies. He says that despite seeing a very low symbolic price cut, in other cases Z RRE has approved all demands for growth. He does not expect the price to be lowered, but he prays that there is no rise.
) EARLY as regulator and prices have always been very tolerant of these demands, only this year has it been symbolicly lowering the current to say that in other cases it has always approved all the requirements so I don't expect the price of electricity to decrease, I pray you don't rise, Gjata said.
He stresses that the price of electricity in Kosovo depends on winter, time, temperatures, and rainfall. It also stresses that consumption and the need for energy imports affect prices. Increasing consumption and energy demand, according to Gjata, always leads to increased electricity prices.
The price on us depends on winter, time, temperature, low or high, or there's a lot of change and how long it takes, whether we can meet the needs of local production, or we're forced to import, the price of electricity in the international markets absolutely moves up, absolutely written order is practically increased consumption, energy demand, and the price of I currents rise, the Gjata concluded.
Power expert: K ESCO not to penalise consumers
Vezir Rexhepi, an expert on energy issues, stressed that the ZERE makes decisions only once a year during April, and only in emergency cases can tariff changes be discussed.
Always in time and normal sense Z The RRE makes decisions during April mean once a year, only in the event many emergency can be discussed on tariffs or tariff changes, so I don't think there can be a discount, but regular tariff change meetings are taken in April, Rexhepi said.
He voiced scepticism about the possibility of lowering prices, stressing that last year the price has been too high and there have been price hikes in all sectors.
It is known that earlier there has been a very high price in addition to that there have been price hikes in nearly all sectors, in this context and KESCO see the price hikes problem, Rexhepi said.
Rexhepi stressed that KESCO, which receives about 80% of the energy from thermal power plants that sell at convenient prices, should find ways not to penalise consumers, given the cost of living standards.
) K ESCO gets nearly 80% of the electricity from thermal power plants, which they sell at a convenient price, and should be seen not to be penalised in this way because we know the cost of living standards, Rexhepi concluded.
