The Special Court has decided to leave two of the four former KLA leaders still in custody who are being tried in The Hague.
The special decision has been made for Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi to continue the detention measure.
This was made known in the decision the Special made two days ago.
As the reason for continuing detention, the court has estimated that there is danger of damage to evidence, influence in witnesses, and so on.

“in light of the above developments, as well as the fact that there is continued danger in preventing further crimes and prosecutions... Selimi for the next two months is necessary and reasonable in the specific circumstances of the” case, the Special's decision to continue detention says.
The court on part of the decision seems to be aware of the long-term time Selimi and Krasniqi have spent in custody. So they have stressed that they will demand that judgment develop as quickly as possible.
“in light of these factors, the panel finds that Mr. Krasniqi for two more months is needed and reasonable in the specific circumstances of the case”, the Special decision on Krasniqi says.

We remember that the judgment on Thaci and others has started on April 3rd with the opening statements where everyone has been declared innocent of charges of alleged war crimes.
Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi are located at the detention centre in The Hague from November 2020.
25 witnesses have been heard in the KLA leaders' trial so far.
