US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill praised that imposed solutions cannot last long, but added that he thinks that the EU's special envoy for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, is working to find a solution to that process that will not be imposed.
You know, the solutions that are imposed don't last long. You want solutions that will come naturally. I'm sure Mr. Lajcak is working for”, Hill told Serbian medium “Blic”, following the new round of dialogue in Brussels.
He said he is proud of the support the US gives Lajcak, but also that he is pleased that the US is directly involved in that process through its special envoy, Gabriel Escobar.
I've been working on peace processes and I know how hard it is, whatever you do, somebody's gonna be pissed... I wish this case were settled, I know it's hard for everyone. But I think Serbia has a bright future and I would like it to focus on”, Ambassador Hill said.
Speaking of relations between the US and Serbia, he estimated the two countries have a very good dialogue, but that more can be achieved.
What I can say is that there is a growing consensus in the US that we should improve relations with Serbia and that we should be friends and partners again”, Hill said.
