We expect the two countries to take their obligations seriously with the Agreement on normalisation of relations, which have arrived earlier this year. Time's ticking. We want to see progress in existing and previous obligations, undertaken in dialogue and the Ohrid Agreement, including the founding of the Serbian majority municipalities' association”, a spokesman for the US State Department for Radio Free Europe said.
“Sic we have said repeatedly, the EU facilitated dialogue is the only way forward for Kosovo and Serbia”, he added.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, met in Brussels on Thursday with the mediation of EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell and EU envoy for dialogue Miroslav Lajcak.
The meeting, which had in place implementation of the basic agreement on normalisation of relations, did not produce any results, Borrell said.
According to him, it was Kurti who refused to accept the EU proposal for the simultaneous implementation of obligations coming out of this agreement, while Vuciq agreed.
