The former head of the Democratic League of Kosovo and former Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, in a brief interview for Gazeta Express has spoken about the statement of Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi given in “Danas” of which Bislimi acknowledges that Kosovo has made a major concession in Ohrid by giving up formal recognition.

Mustafa has said the main goal of Kosovo- Serbia has been achieving mutual recognition, however, says that under Kurti's direction, dialogue has become a process of managing crises, which trigger both sides for internal political calculations.

Serbia has been resolving disputes to achieve mutual recognition. With this government, dialogue has moved to the next, crisis management unit, which causes both sides for internal political consumption”, the former prime minister has said.

The former Kosovo executive chief further adds, that the Government of Kosovo initially took popular actions to extend sovereignty, actions which are later sold to uninformed “citizens”, and then backed up after international rebukes and sanctions.

They once take popular action in the north of the country as if we are extending our sovereignty and they sell these actions to uninformed citizens, and then they quietly pull back after warnings and sanctions “to please” international”, Mustafa told Express.

He says such policies for Kosovo are completely wrong and outside the strategic interests of the state.

Speaking of the Ohrid Agreement, Mustafa says that with the government's accession that has given up formal recognition and increasing the lack of will for implementation, it is more severe and with unpredictable consequences compared to the 2013 Agreement.

The recently accepted “Agreement strongly denounced by the government for actual recognition (but now stated by the same that there has been a large concession because it has been abandoned by formal recognition), with a lack of will for implementation, is more serious and with unprecedented consequences compared to the First” Agreement, it has been posted.

Mustafa says that from a political agreement aimed at extending sovereignty, mutual recognition, membership and international recognition is being passed on to status quo.

Former Prime Minister Mustafa says delays in the process of dialogue at least convene Kosovo, and that they go in favour of Serbia “to overlook recent war crimes and political and economic recovery in the Western world”.

Finally, the man who has led the LDK for several years says that Kosovo would have to return the focus of negotiations in mutual recognition and give up the seizures of mayors in what it calls “the municipalities”, where no one goes to receive services.

“Kosovo should return the focus of dialogue in mutual recognition as soon as possible and give up the recipient of the chairmanial fortification at “dulls” of municipalities, in which no citizen goes to search for service”, has concluded Isa Mustafa.

The Kosovo Government's number two, Besnik Bislimi, in an interview for the Serbian newspaper “Danas” as he spoke of the recent Kosovo-Serbia agreement reached in Ohrid, has said Kosovo has made a major concession by giving up Serbia's formal recognition.

Serbia has agreed with the text of the Agreement, and its full implementation leads to a new and more stable situation than we now have. With the Basic Agreement (February 27th) Serbia has agreed to treat Kosovo as an equal sovereign member, has recognised our territorial integrity, has agreed to maintain normal relations as with all other neighbours, and to support Kosovo's membership in international organisations. We understand that formal recognition is not there, and that was a major concession of Kosovo. It is important that we build stable relations as equal members of the international community”, Deputy Prime Minister Bislim said when asked what is expected at the next Kosovo- Serbia after the Ohrid Agreement is being respected.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will meet on 14 September in Brussels. Under all likelihood, one of the main points of discussion will be the sequence plan for implementation of the Ohrid Agreement, and also the situation in the north and elections in the four northern municipalities.
