Green: EU rewarded Kurt with meeting in Brussels

Former United States envoy for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia Richard Green has stressed that the EU has rewarded Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti with a meeting in Brussels, as according to him “Kurti has ignored their demands”. Grenelli told Kosovo Online that the Benden administration's policy for the crisis [...]
Grenelli told Kosovo Online that the Biden administration's policy for the current Kosovo Serb crisis is to allow the European Union to lead negotiations.
“That is exactly what the EU wanted, the 27 members responded to the Balkan crisis by setting up meetings and making statements, but took few actions.”, Grenelli said.
He said on June 3, 2023, The EU made it clear that “Prime Minister Albin Kurti's unilateral action in northern Kosovo is guilty of the current crisis between Kosovo and Serbia”.
“The EU statement was clear, but Kurt ignored all requirements. Instead of calling Kurt for inaction in the past three months, the EU rewarded him with another meeting in Brussels on Thursday, September 14th, with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq”She said Green.
Greenell said Germany's special envoy for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarazin, has not condemned Kurt's actions.
“If the EU wants to be taken seriously in foreign affairs, then it must mean what it says. There should not be another meeting to discuss issues until the requirements of June 3rd are met”, Green is over.
