Three generations of the Afzaal family were killed, one of the victims was 15 years old, while the nine - year - old who was seriously injured managed to survive.
The victims were walking around on June 6th, 2021, when they were killed.
Veltman was arrested immediately after the attack in a parking lot near London's oldest mosque, where the Afzaal family were dedicated members.
The attack sent waves of grief and fear throughout Canada, while the narrow Muslim community of London was saddened by the loss of this family.
While the Supreme Court trial is expected to last about three months.
