More than 50 people have been injured and hundreds more are seeking refuge after the typhoon Saola arrived in Guangdong province of China on Saturday morning.
Officials have not confirmed any deaths yet, but said more than 500 people were forced to flee their homes to temporary shelters, Upi reports, broadcast Clankosova.tv.
Several injured persons are being treated in local hospitals in the coastal province of southeastern China.
Due to the alarming situation, flights have been cancelled and schools and businesses closed.
Typhoon caused heavy flooding and damage to the port of Shenzhen as well as to Hong Kong and Macao.
