Pigozin died on August 23, after the crash of the plane, which he was traveling from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
The farewell ceremony for Yevgeny Viktorovich was held through a small organisation. Those who want to say goodbye can visit Porokhovskoye” cemetery, said on the channel on the telegram used by Wagner.
The cemetery that the group referred to is located on the outskirts of St Petersburg.
Russia's Detective Committee confirmed that Pigozin died during the collapse of the private plane. The plane, with ten people on board, crashed on August 23rd in northern Moscow.
The causes of the butterfly crash have not yet been determined.
Earlier in August 29th, the Kremlin said Russian President Vladimir Putin would not attend the Prigozyni funeral.
There was speculation that the Kremlin may have been involved in the plane crash. The plane crashed exactly two months after Wagner committed a brief rebellion against the Russian military leadership.
The Kremlin has denied speculation that it lies behind the crash of Pgoxin aircraft.
Wagner's troops, led by Pigozini, played a significant role in Russia's invasion of Ukraine, helping the Russian Army invade the main parts of Bahmut, after nearly 10 months of intense fighting.
